Slingshot is a double-bred Hipshot grandson and a double-bred Scoop / Emma great grandson.  He was bred by Richard and Edna Grabow.  He is owned by Leslie Collins Means, Bluejacket, Oklahoma.

Slingshot is a strong, steady working dog.  Lots of style and eye.  He works both ends - head and heel.  He is strong on both cattle and sheep.  As a younger dog he was not quick to bite and concentrated a bit too much when he did.  With use and age, he is a freer biter.

Cadillac kind of dog.  Superb steering and tracking.  Precision in the turns and stops.  Strong walk up.  Fearless.  Absolutely no back down, turn back, or quit.  Along with this comes somewhat of a strong-minded dog.  He can be a handful and there are times he needs screwed down.

Sling is a solid, confident, very sure of himself dog.  He steadies any stock he is working.  This in turn steadies me, the handler, who isn't overly experienced handling livestock with or without a dog.  Whatever the job, I know Sling will stay at it until it's done.  He reduces the potential "wreck" percentage to almost zero.  Overall, he is my first choice for work or trial.  And without a doubt, the best working Kelpie I will ever own. ~ Leslie Collins Means
